I treat patients of all genders, races, body shapes and sizes, 18 years of age and older.
Whether you suffer from anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, binge eating, avoidant-restrictive intake disorder, other specified eating disorder or different forms of disordered eating; or if you feel like food has been controlling your life, through personalized treatment recommendations and caring approach, I will work with you to achieve sustainable recovery and improve your overall well-being. Together, we will create an individualized treatment plan to address physical, emotional, and psychological aspects of your illness.
I see patients in-person in the Woodstock, Howard County office, conveniently located near Rt.29 next to Waverly Woods Village Center with easy access to I-70. Virtual appointments are available to established patients across the state of Maryland.
Expert Evaluations
Comprehensive assessments aimed at developing an understanding of your unique issues with food and eating.
In addition to a full mental health assessment, they include a review of available medical and mental health records and obtaining additional data to formulate the treatment plan, like collateral information from your providers or support persons or ordering necessary diagnostic tests.
Expert evaluations are comprised of:
an initial visit (up to 120 min)
one wrap-up appointment (30 min) to review the findings and proposed treatment plan
Treatment recommendations may consist of regular individualized follow-up sessions but may also include referrals to specialists more suited to your needs.
Individualized Treatment Sessions
Individualized follow-up visits with services tailored to your specific needs.
Available services include:
monitoring and managing medical complications of your disordered eating
nutritional education and counseling
psychiatric medication prescribing and management if applicable
psychotherapy geared towards your unique struggles
Whether you’re interested in full compliment of services or you have an outpatient team and you’re looking for an expert eating disorder psychiatrist, your treatment plan will be accomodated to your particular circumstances.
Professional Consultations
Available to all mental health clinicians and medical professionals in the need of expert guidance from an eating disorder specialist in diagnosing and/or managing patients under their care.
Teaching engagements and public speaking
Lectures, presentations, workshops and teaching sessions on various eating disorder related topic available for healthcare professionals as well as lay audiences.
